1. Is your garage door going down and then on it's own goes back up? Check the sensors. They are probably not aligned correctly or being blocked by an object. Or, it could be the sensor beam is not plugged in. Your manufacturers instructions should have a section on alignment.
2. Is your remote not working? Check or replace the batteries. This sounds too easy but it just may be the solution. OK, the batteries are good and it still doesn't work. If it's lost it's frequency it may need to be reprogramed. This is easy and again, it should be covered in the owners manual. 3. Does your wall mounted switch or button not function but the remote works fine? It sounds like you may have a short or loose wire. Check for shorts or loose connections. 4. In the event you can't open or close the door, maybe due to electrical outages, garage door openers come with a emergency release to allow you to manually open and close the door. Make sure it's not engaged as this can interfere with the remote or wall unit operating properly. 5. Is your garage door opening by itself? Look at the buttons on the remote control and make sure they are not stuck.
6. Is your garage door opener running but not opening the door? You may need to replace gears that are worn or look for a broken chain. 7. Is your opener working but

clean. Make sure the track is clean and remove any built up dirt. Use a
lubricating lightweight oil on the bearings. If they're rusted you'll need to
replace them.
